Throuhg its language and comparisons, it is this book's aim to show points in common with conventional medicine, and to bridge differences. Hence, in keeping with literature on acupuncture it is written in a rather unorthodox manner therewith, however, facilitating a conventionally-trained physician's confrontation with the material. This results not in small part from my own experiences therewith. Because in the past, left on one's own, it was very hard to work out the essentials from the myriad of traditional hand-me-down data. I have therefore intentionally deleted all philosophy, which, though very interesting tends to scare off the novice. A number of other ways of approaching the material have also been left out on purpose.
